SKGB Open day

The Scottish Karate Governing Body will be holding an Open day on Sunday 19th April 2015.

Venue: Dakota Hotel Euro Central, Motherwell.
Time: Drop in anytime between 10am until 2pm.

The SKGB would like to invite local authority representatives, Active School managers & co-ordinators, SKGB members and karate groups outwith the SKGB.

Aim of the open day

To have a friendly and open discussion with interested parties and inform them of the structure and services the Scottish Karate Governing Body have to over offer.

On the day Sportscotland will have representation in attendance and the following SKGB departments will be represented and will be available for informal discussions.

Departments represented:

Governance
Child Protection - Minimum Operating Requirements (MOR)
PVG scheme membership
International interests
Sport - Pathways
Refereeing - commission
Women’s interests
Club and coach accreditation.
SKGB membership

The Scottish Karate Governing Body is recognised by the following bodies as the National governing body for Traditional and Sport Karate in Scotland.

James Coulter has been awarded 'Evening Times Young Sport Person of the Year for 2014' this is 2 years in a row James has won this and helped promote karate.

He was also awarded a grant from Sports Aid Scotland by long standing sponsor 'The Robertson Trust' charity

Karate into the Olympics 2020

Karate into the Olympics‘The inclusion of Karate to the Olympics gives hopes and dreams to everybody in the karate world and also to the next generation.’

Looking forward to the Tokyo Olympics 2020, Japan Karatedo Federation, in coordination with the WKF, has been making every effort for the inclusion of Karate into the Olympics with the support of Nippon Budo-kan, Japan Budo Association, and the All-Party Parliamentary Group for the Promotion of the Tokyo Olympics 2020, which has been set up with more than 110 members from both Houses of Parliament.

Now we are in the middle of our signature-collecting campaign together with JKF & WKF members and all karate fans.


In order to publicise the overwhelming wave of passionate vocal support for Karate to the Olympics to the world, as well as in Japan, we would like to ask your full support for and cooperation with this online signature-collecting campaign.
